Here are the last summer holiday Pushchairs and Picnics dates before my little girl goes in Year 1... some of you may be thinking we have another 2 weeks left of the holidays but Katie's school go back on the 29th Aug!!!!
On Tues 21st if the weather stays fine we will be meeting at Rushcliffe Country Park, Ruddington we will be meeting at 11am somewhere near the adventure playground.
Rushcliffe is a great venue for picnics, plenty of space to play, maybe even fly a kite, a lovely adventure playground, a discovery trail and large duck pond/lake!!
The park is on the outskirts of Ruddington, it is a 5/10 min walk from Ruddington Village, leave the Green and walk up Asher Lane.
There is a car park at the top of Rushcliiffe Country Park, but i'm unsure if there is a charge for this.
Bus 10 goes to Ruddington Green from Opp Victoria Centre.
On Friday 24th August we will be meeting again at Arnot (Arnold) Park at 11am.
Last week we had a lovely time the children loved playing on the park, eating ice creams and feeding the ducks!!
See you there...remember your picnics and suncream!!!!!

Hi everyone,
Here are the first Pushchair and Picnic dates for 2012! (weather permitting!!)
On TUES 24TH JULY 2012 we will be meeting at HIGHFIELDS University Park.
Meeting on the park itself around 10.30/11.00am
This is one of my fave sunday afternoon places to go. It is a lovely setting for a picnic, play on the park, a walk round the lake, maybe feed the ducks and have ice cream. there are toilets, 2 places to eat, drink and buy refreshments and nearly always a ice cream van nearby!
There are 2 carparks next to the lakeside theatre which are free but do get very busy.
For those who rely on public transport you can catch the 13,14 from both town and Beeston,
also L12 AND L53 from Basford.
On Friday 27th July 2012 we will be meeting at Greens Windmill, Sneinton at 11.00am
(in or around the windmill science centre)
You can go in the windmill itself, admission for the windmill and the science centre are free. There is a small gift shop in the science centre, a playground and grassed area suitable for picnics.
Greens Windmill is 10 mins walk from the city centre, by no 43 bus from outside Argos and there is a carpark.

Sunday at West Bridgford Park
West Bridgford Park!!
Buses run quite regular on a Sunday and it's only 10 mins from the city centre too!
It is a lovely clean park with lots to do for all ages. There is a very big grassed area which is perfect for picnics, ball games, maybe even kite flying!
There is also a drink/ice cream kiosk and toilets (remember some change you need 20p for use of the toilets). West Bridgford has a range of shops/cafes/restaurants so if you did forget a picnic or fancied lunch somewhere there is plenty on offer.
Buses: 5,6,7,8,9 to Central Avenue, W.B
Catch the bus opposite Boots, Parliment Street or Central Library, Market Square.

Hi, welcome to my first blog......
........Charlie and katie go out, although that should read Charlie and Katie go out.....on a bus.....on a budget! because that is what we mainly do.
I will be using this blog primarily to let everyone know about Pushchairs and Picnics events but will also share other places we have visited and activities coming up in Nottingham for families.
Pushchairs and Picnics (& bigger, little people)
In 2008 I created Pushchairs and Picnics, with dates and venues for me and my friends with little ones to meet up, well 4 years later with our babies at school i've decided to resurrect P&P's. I have planned dates and meet up venues for the summer holidays.
Meet up's will be on Tuesday's and Friday's (except 1 date on a Monday)
All you need to do is turn up with your picnic, suncream and sunshine!!
If raining, meet ups will be cancelled.
I will post dates, times and information about the meet ups on charlieandkatiegoout weekly, so keep reading!!!
